My life in a nutshell.

Christmas is around the corner and the New year is about to begin. I love how I vow to 1. Loose weight, (for some reason that one is always number 1, Love It!!) 2. To blog more, for some reason there is always guilt that is associated with not keeping up with my blog. and 3. Something either to do with money or try and go on some family vacation. For some reason or another my goals are shorty lived. So this time around I vowed to just live in the moment, count to 10 when I'm on the verge of explostion from my kids, and make my relationships more meaningful.

I miss my Hawaii home, but I know that home is where ever I make it. Its not the same, but I want to try and make some of the family traditions that I loved growing up a part of our family. I really am so blessed with a great family. I don't think there is any family that doesn't have there "moments" and I know that mine has plenty!!

Muddy Buddies and Pumpkins.

The pumpkin patch is always such great fun!

Our family rule is..if you can carry it..its yours!

So naturally the boys go for the BIGGEST ones.

This year, J saw a really cool idea in a book and so he was looking for the perfect one!

After a while I think this one was even too big for Kekai!

Of course you know that with a big pumpkin comes a lot of seeds...

Kekoa LOVED it!!

Walla!!! A sneezing pumpkin! J was so excited when he was done, and wouldn't let ANYONE touch it!

Kekai drew one with 3 eyes, but Emma was the one to carve it!

She really loved carving all of the pumpkins, she even asked Jordan to carve his! It was a great family night! I even went crazy and made muddy buddies while we carved!!!!

Halloween with the Palmers

What a great year for Halloween..it was so much fun..What can we say, we love Halloween!

Kekai was link from Zelda, I was afraid that we weren't going to be able to pull it off, but I think we did pretty good.

As for me? what else..Bride of Frankenstein. My friend Lauren and I dressed up as the same thing and didn't even know it! It was awesome.

Jordan had to out do his costume from last year, and so we came up with Nacho Libre. We bought half of his costume and pieced together the rest. It turned out
great!!! All of the kids at school kept quoting the movie and calling him Nacho all day.

As for Brett, if you know Brett it has to be something funny,
and funny it was. He was Fire Marshall Bill. We weren't able to find
the hat, but we were able to score a great wig and rain boots at savers that were
perfect for the costume. It was Hilarious!!!

Kekoa wanted to be a pirate, I think it was because of the
of the mustache. He loves mustaches. I was able to snap this picture before
he took it off and wanted me to draw one on. I love this kid, he cracks me
up!

This year the kids didn't get a chance to dress up for school, but they still got a chance to dress up more that once since we had a Halloween party at grandmas before Halloween. The boys did mummies and had a great time bobbing for apples in red jello, decorating pumpkins, playing BINGO, and eating lots, and lots of candy.

After going door to door around the neighborhood, we came home to some yummy corn chowder soup, passed out candy, and watched movies. What a great Halloween!

Summer is around the corner!

I can not believe how fast this school year has gone by. This next school year Jordan will be the king of elementary, it will be the last year before hitting the big dawgs, and going to Jr.high, or as we called it Intermediate. Ahhh!!! ( Now I really feel old!) Kekai has had a great year with Mrs. Johnson in first grade. We have been really lucky to have another great teacher. She has really been great for Kekai, and has helped his to be successful, and balance with the things that he needed help in.

Hopefully next year will be just as great! As for Emma, she too has enjoyed Mrs Jakie, I can't believe my little girly girl will be Kinder garden! Yeah for Emma!!!! Kekoa too has had the school buzz, he asks to go to school with the kids and wants to wear a backpack around. Let's hope this school buzz stays with him all the way to High School!! It really does help to have a great school experience.

But enough with school, summer is right around the corner, we have been enjoying all of the nice rain, and we are excited for our garden this year! Kekai has planted a pumpkin, and we did strawberries, onions, tomatoes, and cilantro. What else? Oh yeah..

Aunty Miki and Kyle and lets not forget cutie Sean, will be joining our family for a week this summer, we are all so excited for them to visit us! We have lots to catch up on. The last time that I saw Sean he was just little, thanks goodness for blogger!

And last but not least, what would summer be without some crazy family vacations.. we are hoping to take some well needed small family vacations this year, we are all very, very excited!!

We will have to update with some nice pictures!!

The Easter Bunny is comming to town today!

"Look mom I found an egg!" What a great Easter this year. Kekoa is just at that age where everything is so exciting! He was proud of his eggs that he found. We were able to go to Brett's parents this year and have a great egg hunt. Susan had bought all of the kids kites, and we headed over to the park to fly them. It was a great day. We were able to get all of the kites up. I think Kekai was a bit disappointed once up in the air..there was nothing to do with them, but watch them fly. Kekoa enjoyed himself the most! He would let them go, and then chase after the string. What a great idea to add to our family tradition.
We were also able to go up to SLC, and have brunch up at The Roof in Temple Square with Mom, Ku'i and Sue. We snuck in between seasons during General Conference. They sat us near the window within view of the temple, and we were eye view of the top. It was really cool. We all enjoyed ourselves and were able to think of Easter and the true meaning of it. Afterwards, we walked around and enjoyed the Clark Planetarium, which is perfect, because Kekoa is all about Plants, Space, and Rockets! It was a great day to be with the family.

The Artist in me.

SO as you can tell, I'm playing catch up with all of the blogging. The past few days Ive been camera happy. I guess that what happens when the weather starts to get nice. As you know Emma is quite the little artist in the family. She is always painting or drawing or doing something artistic, so naturally having an older sister like Emma, Kekoa starts to pick up on some of her loves. Painting has become one of the two things that Kekoa has picked up. We were painting, and he started to paint his nails with the water colors. He said" Pretty Polish", it was so funny, I souldn't believe that he would pick up on that. but I thought.. Well as long as it was only water color It's ok. Dressing up has also been one of Kekoa's "other loves", I know that its all in fun, and that this will be the closest that Emma will have to a sister, so I say..Enjoy, and have fun!

Fun in the sun!!

After a day of snow..the sun is shinning and we are outside having fun! Today I tried to recreate a fun activity that the kids did at the library for Dr. Seuss's Birthday. They had a bin full of corn starch and water, and some food coloring. It was a lot of fun, and I thought, how fun would this be in the sand table out side...SO, today, it being a nice day, I attempted this. Stress attempted. Needless to say, there was a lot of mess! Well..at least the kids had fun!
